Spring Break (Part Two)

The third day of Spring Break Mom and I headed out to Manatee Springs State Park in the morning, then the plan was to meet Maria and the kids after lunch and head out to St. Augustine. We followed the directions to the park and it was strange how a main road ended in the park and a few yards into driving (after we paid our admission) we saw this standing on the side of the road.

It is strange to me how deer are not afraid of anyone in the parks because they are so accustomed to it, but out here in good ole Indiana they run as soon as they see you.

Manatee Springs was really cool for two reasons; first, this was my first time to actually see a spring and second, it was a beautiful day and we needed a few hours to kill.

Definitely pretty cool and glad we saw it, but it yes this was it!

Me looking good with that bruise on my arm. I got it from falling down the stairs at the hotel...I wonder who I get my clumbsiness from?!?

After Manatee Springs, we said good bye to Trenton (don't you love the signs) and were on our was to St. Augustine--the oldest city in the US.

We saw these longhorns along the way. We definitely turned around to take this picture and I'm glad mom didn't get too close because those horns look like they could hurt!

We have ARRIVED! Once we checked in, Maria and the kids went to the pool and Mom and I went and bought trolley passes. Afterwards, we went to the park, ate dinner, and went to bed ready to get up early to explore St. Augustine. Check back soon for those pics and stories!

Spring Break (Part One)

Spring Break feels like a long time ago, but I'm still going to post about some of my...I mean our...adventures. Mom and I flew down to Florida to visit Maria and her family. The first day we arrived it was really late, so we just said hi to Maria and found our hotel and went to bed. The second day mom and I had time to kill before meeting Maria for lunch, so I drove her around while she took some photos.
This was my favorite one. We were driving down the road with inlets--looked like little creeks or rivers on both sides--and it was just so pretty and peaceful. Every place had a boat of their own and their own little redneck character.

Everywhere we went had these tall trees planted in long rows. You can't get the full effect but I wanted a good one of these but we never had the opportunity.

After driving around in the morning, mom and I met up with Maria for lunch in Trenton. We ate at a mom and pop's little diner and it was delicious. It was good to catch up with Maria before heading out to her house later that day to see the kids and Michael.

After lunch, it was nap time (since we were on vacation and both mom and I love nap time) then off to visit the farm. Here is mom and I looking very white in the Florida state!

Growing up mom loved to play with my hair and I hated it. Little Seanna LOVED having her hair combed and loving up on her Aunt Terry. We visited and check out Maria and Michael's place then had dinner with them before heading back to the hotel.

Here is the crew. My Aunt Maria, her husband Michael, and my cousins Wyatt and Seanna. What a blast visiting their place and seeing what their life in Florida is like. Check back to see about the rest of my Spring Break! (I promise you won't have to wait another month for a post like you did this time.)
